What Dr. Parker loves about working in pediatric dentistry is that you create the experience and that you don’t have to be so serious. He also feels that there is more time to take small steps to create the good habits in oral health that will last a lifetime for families.

During his personal time, Dr. Parker enjoys exercising to keep up with his 2 boys, Isaiah and Elija, date nights with his wife, Ingrid, cooking and grilling, finding time to read, naps, going to concerts, karaoke (he has 5 go to songs that he is always ready to perform), and participating in various runs and obstacle course races. Closing Statement
I have always considered finding dentistry to be a blessing for my true purpose. In undergrad, I thought that I was going to go into the Air Force and become a finance officer. One trip with the science club changed all that. Different opportunities, adversities, and experiences in my life only solidified my excitement and determination to become a dentist. During my time in dental school, I found joy going to my pediatric rotations and discovered a keen interest in learning and working with special needs patients. During my hospital residency training after dental school, the idea of helping to create the foundation for a child’s oral health and overall health, working with kids that have unique challenges, and assisting parents in taking the small steps for better change became more of a passion for me. I am very humbled to have been able to find my purpose and I am excited to continue growing in this field. As a professional, but more importantly as a father, providing great care for children while giving them a safe and fun environment is always my priority.
“Be kind, be patient, do good, and have fun living your purpose!” |
